Monelise is an artist in whose haunting compositions uniquely cosmic lyrics are situated in lush cinematic soundscapes. Her music blurs the boundaries between acoustic and electronic instrumentation; hauntological longing and euphoria. With songs that are often described as sounding like "A Kate Bush soundtrack to a David Lynch film", she makes the sublime and the uncanny collide in a startling way.
Her singles 'Your Moon' and 'The Flood' received highly positive reviews from various music blogs and publications, extensive radio play and a feature in Topshop's 2018 in-store campaign. She recently presented a visually and sonically striking live show with a full band at The Albany, Deptford. Monelise has now successfully organised the recording of her next album, "Hauntology", through a crowdfunded campaign (release expected in Summer 2019) and is heading on a European Sofar Sounds tour in March-April 2019. She holds an Mmus Degree in Popular Music from world-renowned Goldsmiths University.
