Monelise's haunting compositions situate cosmic lyrics and shimmering vocals within lush cinematic soundscapes. Her music blurs the boundaries between acoustic and electronic instrumentation; hauntological longing and euphoria. With songs that are often described as sounding like "A Kate Bush soundtrack to a David Lynch film", she makes the sublime and the uncanny collide in a startling way.
The audiovisual element features prominently in this multi-disciplinary artist's work. This was evidenced in the visually and sonically striking live show that she authored and presented with a full band at The Albany, Deptford, and is now preparing to showcase at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2019. This will coincide with the release of her debut album, "Hauntology", which is based on her live show and is also due in August 2019. Monelise has recently returned from a European Sofar Sounds tour in March-April 2019, having performed in Italy, Austria and Hungary. She holds an Mmus Degree in Popular Music from world-renowned Goldsmiths University.
