About

While in Edinburgh, Monelise starred in over 50 short films and was represented by Masques, the city’s leading acting agency. Her work spanned theater and screen, including a standout performance in The Ribbon Tied, an original drama at the Edinburgh Fringe, where she received glowing reviews for her compelling portrayal.

In recent years, Monelise has fused her musical and acting talents. She starred in Nick Newton’s cinematic music video Woodland Shadow and created its remix, showcasing her multifaceted artistry. TESTIMONIAL BY NICK NEWTON
She's professional, reliable, and highly gifted at inhabiting a role while beautifully expressing a wide range of emotion.
Monelise is the lead actress in a narrative driven music video called "Woodland Shadow" that I'm currently producing. The story borrows themes from Snow White, with the heroine transforming from a lost and fearful girl to a powerful and mystical enchantress. I was extremely impressed with Monelise throughout every stage of the filming process. It was a difficult shoot in many ways, but Monelise took on the physical challenges with dedication and professionalism.
We used a forest location which had an unexpected snowfall on filming day. Monelise took this in her stride and gave a really believable portrayal of being scared and pursued. We returned to the forest in better weather, with Monelise facing the biggest challenge of the shoot - to fall backwards into a pool of cold water. I would have completely understood if she didn't want to, but after preparing herself she was brave enough to do it. We also shot at night in the same location with Monelise needing to be partly immersed in the pool, then transforming into the serenely powerful witch, which she embodied with ease.
We finished with 2 separate studio shoots. The first was a water studio where Monelise had to perform under a rain machine and then in a water tank. In one scene under the rain she had to thrash about in anger and it was frighteningly convincing, all the crew were stunned! She also had to act underwater in the tank, for example, struggling to remove a suffocating corset in terror. As before, her acting felt so real, she puts everything into her performance.
At the 2nd studio we worked with over 20 types of animal and their professional handlers, including some extremely venomous snakes. Monelise had to perform in close proximity to all of the animals which must have been nerve-wracking, but she kept her cool and stayed perfectly in character. I highly recommend Monelise for any acting projects you may have, she is dedicated to her characters and always willing to challenge herself. She's professional, reliable, and highly gifted at inhabiting a role while beautifully expressing a wide range of emotion.
